Role Purpose

The Director of Community Engagement strengthens the Foundation’s visibility, relationships, and trust by cultivating authentic connections with communities, partners, and supporters.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain community partnerships and relationships
  • Support events, outreach efforts, and public-facing initiatives
  • Act as a bridge between community voices and Foundation leadership
  • Identify engagement opportunities aligned with mission and values
  • Provide feedback on community needs and emerging themes

Time Commitment

Ongoing monthly engagement with increased activity during events, campaigns, or partnership initiatives.

Strong community relationships, increased awareness, and authentic engagement that supports the Foundation’s mission and growth.

Director of Community Engagement — Compensation Policy

Board governance vs. operational services clarified

Role Separation

Board duties performed as a Board Member (At-Large) are voluntary and unpaid. Compensation applies only to operational services performed in a non-board capacity as Director of Community Engagement.

Base Operational Compensation (Upon Activation): $500 per month
Fixed monthly stipend; not tied to hourly tracking.

Funding Trigger

  • At least $10,000 in awarded grant funding or documented, unrestricted committed donations, and
  • Maintenance of three (3) months of operating reserves after stipend payment
Operating Reserves Definition: Unrestricted cash (excluding restricted funds) sufficient to cover the Foundation’s average monthly operating expenses for a minimum of three (3) months.

Governance & Oversight

  • Compensation requires independent board approval and documentation
  • The individual will recuse herself from any discussion or vote regarding her compensation
  • Compensation is reviewed annually for sustainability and reasonableness
